4 Rare CT5-V Blackwing Editions Collectors Should Target Beyond the Standard Spec

Cadillac builds the CT5-V Blackwing as a hand-assembled, track-ready performance sedan. The standard car already occupies a narrow market: a supercharged V-8 built in limited numbers for drivers who want something the mainstream segment cannot provide. Beyond the standard spec, Cadillac has created a series of editions that narrow the production count even further and attach specific stories, finishes, and performance enhancements that no configurator option can replicate. Four of those editions deserve attention from serious collectors right now.

Applewood Cadillac in Mississauga has positioned itself at the centre of all four. Earlier this year, the dealership offered a 2025 CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Edition, one of only 101 units produced worldwide. It is a racing-tribute machine finished in Magnus Metal Frost with Stormhawk Blue carbon-fibre aero components referencing Cadillac's 1950 Le Mans entry. That car remains with the dealership, and its presence at Applewood sets the tone for what follows. With three additional 2026 limited editions now confirmed for the Blackwing lineup, the dealership stands among a very small number of Canadian retailers with access to any of them.

The F1 Collector Series: 26 Units for North America, Two for Canada

The CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series was announced on the eve of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 2026, the Cadillac Formula 1 Team's inaugural home race. The car made its Canadian debut in Montréal during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend.

Only 26 units exist across Canada and the United States combined. Two are allocated to Canada. Applewood Cadillac is one of the dealerships positioned to sell one of those two Canadian examples.

An upgraded supercharger developed in collaboration with GM Motorsports pushes the 6.2-litre supercharged V-8 to 685 hp and 673 lb-ft of torque, the highest output on any production Blackwing to date. Every unit comes exclusively with the 6-speed manual transmission and includes the Precision Package as standard equipment.

The exterior is finished in Midnight Stone Frost with a monochromatic treatment throughout. Carbon Flash Metallic wheels, Harbour Gray Metallic brake calipers, carbon fibre lower bodywork, and a Switchblade Silver pinstripe define the look. F1 and FIA logos are integrated across the vehicle: stamped into the door using a new automated "autocraft" technique, engraved on the spoiler, laser-etched onto the supercharger cover, embedded in the 3D-printed shifter medallion, and embossed into the seat graphic. A builder's badge with unique serialisation identifies each car individually. Production is scheduled to begin in mid-2026.

Curated by Cadillac: 160+ Colours, Hand-Painted, and Built to a Single Owner's Specification

The F1 Collector Series is defined by a fixed specification. The Curated by Cadillac programme works from the opposite direction. Announced last summer, this concierge-led customization programme puts the CT5-V Blackwing through a process drawn from the hand-built CELESTIQ. Each client works alongside a dedicated Cadillac concierge to determine their vehicle's final form.

The exterior palette includes more than 160 colours, each hand-painted by artisans using high-gloss and frost finishes. Interior colours and materials can be combined in millions of configurations. The concierge assigned to each build holds a design background with experience across fashion, fine arts, entertainment, and interior design.

The performance specification matches the standard Blackwing: 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque from the 6.2-litre supercharged V-8. Both the 6-speed manual and 10-speed automatic transmissions are available. Every Curated by Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is hand-built at the Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan. Production begins in mid-2026. Allocation is handled through select dealers.

  • Exterior: 160+ colours in high-gloss and frost finishes, each hand-painted
  • Interior: Millions of colour and material configurations available
  • Engine: 6.2L supercharged V-8 | 668 hp | 659 lb-ft torque
  • Transmissions: 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic

The Deep Ocean Package: 200 Units Built Around an Exclusive Paint Colour

The 2026 CT5-V Blackwing Deep Ocean Package sits at a wider point in the production spectrum: 200 units total, with a specification that is fixed and traceable. The centrepiece is an exterior colour called Deep Ocean Tintcoat, colour code G3Y. This finish is otherwise reserved for the 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V, making the Blackwing Deep Ocean the only gasoline-powered Cadillac to offer it.

The package pairs that exterior with a Jet Black interior featuring carbon trim and blue accent details. High-performance front bucket seats finished in full semi-aniline leather with mini-perforated inserts, custom quilting, and exposed carbon fibre seatbacks are included. Santorini Blue seat belts and blue-painted brake calipers carry the colour theme through to the functional components. Exterior upgrades include black mirror caps, gloss black Cadillac and model nameplates, black lug nuts, and 19-inch forged aluminium wheels finished in Satin Graphite. Carbon Fibre Package 1 and Carbon Fibre Package 2 are both bundled into the configuration.

Production at the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly plant was scheduled to begin in March 2026.

  • Production: 200 units total
  • Exterior: Deep Ocean Tintcoat (G3Y), exclusive among gasoline Cadillacs
  • Seats: Semi-aniline leather with mini-perforated inserts and carbon fibre seatbacks
  • Wheels: 19-inch forged aluminium, Satin Graphite finish
  • Carbon fibre: Packages 1 and 2 included

The Le Monstre Edition: 101 Units, One Racing Number, One 1950 Le Mans Story

Cadillac revealed the Le Monstre Edition in June 2024, timed to the 101st running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The production cap of 101 units worldwide echoes that race number deliberately. Cadillac's 1950 Le Mans entry, a radical coupe that earned the nickname "Le Monstre" for its experimental engineering, wore number 2 and flew American colours on the Circuit de la Sarthe. Both details appear throughout the Collector Series: number 2 graphics on the door decals and seat graphics, and a Stormhawk Blue carbon-fibre aero package that references the 1950 car's livery directly.

The 6.2-litre supercharged LT4 V-8 delivers 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque. The standard CT5-V Blackwing platform provides the foundation: Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, Brembo brakes front and rear, and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. Two interior combinations were offered, Jet Black with Phantom Blue or Sky Cool Gray with Phantom Blue, both with Santorini accent stitching, blue seat belts, and laser-etched Le Monstre sill plates.

Applewood Cadillac has a pre-owned example of this car. If you are looking for a numbered, heritage-tribute Blackwing without a production wait, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one directly.

  • Production: 101 units worldwide
  • Engine: 6.2L supercharged LT4 V-8 | 668 hp | 659 lb-ft torque
  • Exterior: Magnus Metal Frost with Stormhawk Blue carbon-fibre aero package
  • Interior: Number 2 seat graphics | blue seat belts | laser-etched Le Monstre sill plates

What These Four Editions Tell Collectors About the Blackwing Now

The CT5-V Blackwing does not have an open-ended production future. Cadillac's V-Series lineup has expanded into electric vehicles with the OPTIQ-V and LYRIQ-V, and the direction of the broader catalogue points away from supercharged V-8 performance sedans over time. A concentrated run of special editions, each with tighter production caps and a specific story attached, follows the pattern of a manufacturer marking a chapter before it closes.

The F1 Collector Series makes that case most directly. At 685 hp from a manually shifted, supercharged V-8 with a serialised build badge and GM Motorsports-developed hardware, each of those 26 examples carries a documented record of what the Blackwing was at the top of its production life. The two units allocated to Canada are among the rarest Cadillac production vehicles to reach this market.

The Le Monstre Edition made the same argument through motorsport history: a fixed production run tied to a specific race year, with every exterior and interior detail connected to a 1950 Le Mans car. The Curated programme approaches it through personalisation, producing cars that are singular by construction. The Deep Ocean Package gives collectors a documented, traceable specification with a paint colour found on no other gasoline Cadillac.

Across all four, Applewood Cadillac holds a direct connection: a pre-owned Le Monstre Edition currently on hand, access to one of two Canadian F1 Collector Series allocations, and a position within the dealer network that covers the Curated and Deep Ocean programmes as well.
