General Motors anticipates seeing the LYRIQ in showrooms in late 2022. In the meantime, Cadillac’s LYRIQ preview has given us lots to get excited about. We’ll share with you what we know so far about design and performance. We’re certain you’ll love the LYRIQ as much as we do.
Innovative mechanical design is what makes the Cadillac LYRIQ stand out. It’s standard equipped with a rear-wheel drive from an electric motor situated on the rear axle. Cadillac’s new Ultium propulsion system is the structural element of the LYRIQ’s body chassis. Ultium provides a near 50/50 weight distribution and gives the LYRIQ a low center of gravity. As a result, the LYRIQ offers a sporty drive and responsive handling. All-wheel drive is an available feature, and this will add a second motor to the front axle to power the front wheels.
The LYRIQ promises an expected range of 482 km on a full charge. The LYRIQ will also offer at-home Level 2 (AC) charging rates of up to 19kWh and public DC fast-charging rates of up to 150 kWh. This means that whether you’re at home or on the road, you can charge your vehicle quickly with very little downtime. And the ample km range it offers allows you to reach any destination with confidence.
Additionally, the LYRIQ has an estimated 340 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. of torque. Now that’s pretty impressive.
Beyond electrical innovation, the 2023 LYRIQ boasts an eye-catching blend of luxury, refinement and style. From first glance to what you’ll find inside, the LYRIQ is sure to turn heads.
Exterior Design
The LYRIQ’s sleek, sloping silhouette is designed to maximize aerodynamics, reduce wind resistance and preserve vehicle energy. The LYRIQ’s widebody stance and low center of gravity are meant to improve corner handling. Its body contouring is contrasted by its striking LED lighting. Illuminating LED vertical taillights feature a precise etched pattern, inspired by the Cadillac crest. The LED headlights frame the textured, Black Crystal shield front grille, complete with illuminated Cadillac badging.
You’ll also notice the LYRIQ’s full-glass two-tone roof. The roof is designed to not only create amazing surrounding views but also to reinforce the SUV’s futuristic design.
The LYRIQ comes standard with 20” wheels and a unique spoke design to achieve a dramatic wheel-to-body ratio. If you’re looking to make an even bigger statement, you can opt for the available 22” wheels.
Interior Refinement
The LYRIQ was first debuted as a 4-passenger vehicle, however, we know now that the SUV will offer seating for up to 5 passengers. Seating finishes will be offered in either Sky Cool Gray or Noir coloured leather. The interior is fitted with aluminum accents and LED lighting along the dash and the doors to provide a sleek contrast to the leather upholstery. It also features jewel-like embellishments and controls throughout.
As you sit behind the wheel, you’ll notice the 33” LED touchscreen that displays both the vehicle instrument cluster and infotainment console. The LYRIQ’s display can emit over one billion colours, and the result is a crystal-clear display to enhance your driving experience.
The LYRIQ is expected to offer standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. The LYRIQ will also feature a 19-speaker AKG audio system to deliver a clear, immersive audio experience.
In addition to the vehicle’s 33” LED display, you’ll also receive the convenience of the LYRIQ’s augmented reality head-up display. The head-up display will show 2 planes: one to indicate vehicle speed and direction, and one to display navigation signals and other important alerts.
Finally, the LYRIC will offer Cadillac Super Cruise technology: the first truly hands-free driver-assistance feature for highways.
